Sherwin-Williams Kilim Beige

Kilim Beige is a versatile mid-tone, so it works as a full whole-room wall color without feeling either too pale or too heavy. It is a natural fit for living rooms, dining rooms, hallways, and main bedrooms in traditional homes, especially where wood trim, stone, or warm flooring is already in play.

Because its LRV sits at 49, it has enough depth to feel substantial on all four walls while still keeping rooms open. It also makes a good warm backdrop for open-concept spaces that flow from room to room.

On cabinets it gives a soft, earthy alternative to white, particularly in kitchens leaning rustic or Tuscan. Outdoors it performs well as a warm siding or stucco color on traditional and Mediterranean-style exteriors, pairing with stone and clay-tile roofs. For trim you would generally choose a lighter white rather than Kilim Beige itself, and save deeper accent shades for doors and shutters.

With an LRV of 49, Kilim Beige reflects about half the light that hits it, so it holds its mid-tone weight and rarely washes out to a plain cream. That middle position also means it shifts noticeably as the light changes through the day.

In north-facing rooms, which get cool, indirect light, the warmth is welcome and helps the space feel less gray, though the color will read a shade deeper. South-facing rooms flood it with warm light and can push the red-orange base forward, making it look richer and more tan. East light makes it glow warm in the morning and cooler by afternoon, while west rooms do the reverse.

Bulb choice matters here. Warm 2700K bulbs deepen the cozy, earthy side, which suits living rooms and bedrooms. Cooler 3500K to 4000K bulbs calm the warmth and keep it closer to a true neutral. Always judge your samples under the bulbs you actually use at night.

Kilim Beige (LRV 49) is often compared with Accessible Beige (SW 7036), LRV 58. Accessible Beige is lighter and carries more gray, making it a true greige that reads calmer and more current. Kilim Beige is warmer and a touch deeper, so it feels cozier and more traditional. Choose Accessible Beige if you want a modern, understated neutral, and Kilim Beige if you want visible warmth.

Macadamia (SW 6142), at LRV 51, sits very close in depth but leans a bit more golden-yellow rather than red-orange. In warm south light Macadamia can look sunnier, while Kilim Beige stays sandier.

Crewel Tan (SW 11), LRV 50, is nearly identical in lightness and family, so the practical difference is minor; it is a fine alternative if Kilim Beige is unavailable. When in doubt, sample the two side by side, since these small warm-beige shifts are easiest to see on the wall.

For crisp trim and ceilings, pair Kilim Beige with a warm white so the transition stays soft. Alabaster (SW 7008), at an LRV of 82, is an easy match that keeps the woodwork bright without going stark; Greek Villa (SW 7551), LRV 84, is another warm option that flatters the beige.

For a second wall color or an adjacent room, Accessible Beige (SW 7036), LRV 58, is a slightly lighter, greige relative that steps up nicely from Kilim Beige and keeps a whole-home flow. Agreeable Gray (SW 7029), LRV 60, works the same way if you want to bridge toward a cooler neutral.

For contrast and accent, Urbane Bronze (SW 7048) at LRV 8 makes a rich, earthy front door or built-in color, and Evergreen Fog (SW 9130), LRV 30, adds a muted sage that plays well with the warm base. Warm wood tones and aged brass or bronze metals round out the palette naturally.
