Plum Bedroom Palette — Velvet Plum & Soft Oat
A cocooning 5-color scheme for plum bedrooms: a velvet plum lead, soft oat walls, warm white trim, grounding walnut, and a deep aubergine accent, with every color matched to real paint you can buy.

A plum bedroom is all about that tucked-in, end-of-the-day feeling. The star here is Velvet Plum, a soft purple with a warm rosy undertone that I would paint on just the wall behind the bed. It is deep enough to feel like a hug, but it never goes harsh or cold.
To keep the room from feeling closed-in, the other walls wear Soft Oat, a gentle warm neutral, and the trim and ceiling get a slightly cleaner Warm White so the edges stay crisp. Together they give the plum some breathing room and let it be the thing your eye lands on.
For the grounding pieces, Walnut Brown shows up in the furniture and wood tones, which pulls out the warmth in the plum beautifully. Then save Deep Aubergine for one small spot, like an upholstered headboard or a few pillows. A little of that darkest shade is all you need to make the whole scheme feel finished.

Questions
Keep the velvet plum to one wall, usually the one behind the bed, and let the soft oat carry the other three. A whole room of plum can feel heavy, but one wall reads cozy and intentional.
Lean into warm neutrals like oatmeal, cream, and soft caramel, then add one small touch of the deep aubergine in a throw or pillow. That keeps the plum feeling rich without turning the room dark.
