Behr In the Moment

At LRV 22, In the Moment sits at the dark end of the mid range, which makes it a commitment on all four walls but not an unreasonable one. It works for whole-room walls in bedrooms, dens, and offices where you want the space to feel enclosed and quiet, provided the room gets real daylight or good warm lighting.

It is a strong cabinet color. On kitchen islands or full cabinet runs it reads as a settled green that hides fingerprints and pairs easily with brass or matte black hardware. It also holds up as an accent wall behind a bed or a media unit when the other walls stay light.

Outside, it is a natural exterior body color for houses surrounded by planting, and it makes a subdued front door against a white or light neutral facade. On trim it only makes sense as a dark contrast trim against much lighter walls.

With an LRV of 22, In the Moment gives back only about a fifth of the light that hits it, so lighting decides whether the room feels enveloping or dim. In a north-facing room the cool, steady light pushes it toward blue-gray and can make it feel somber; plan on layered lamps if you use it there. South-facing rooms treat it best: strong daylight lifts the green and keeps the color soft rather than murky.

East-facing rooms show it greener and fresher in the morning, then cooler and darker through the afternoon. West-facing rooms do the reverse, with the warm evening light bringing out the green.

Bulb choice matters as much as exposure. Warm bulbs around 2700K keep the green alive after dark; cool bulbs at 4000K and above strip the warmth and leave it looking like a plain dark gray.

Behr Juniper Ash (PPU12-16, LRV 23) is the closest sibling. It shifts slightly toward blue-gray, so it reads a touch cooler and smokier where In the Moment reads greener. Pick Juniper Ash if your room already runs warm and you want the color to cool it down; pick In the Moment when you want the wall to feel like foliage rather than storm cloud.

Behr Woodcraft (N200-5, LRV 24) drops most of the blue and leans olive. It looks earthier and pairs better with tans and browns, while In the Moment pairs better with grays and blues.

Behr Dragonfly (PPU12-03, LRV 25) is a step lighter and noticeably bluer, closer to a true muted teal. In a north room Dragonfly can turn frankly blue; In the Moment holds its green longer. Choose Dragonfly for a coastal lean, In the Moment for a botanical one.

For trim and ceilings, Ultra Pure White (1850) is the clean choice at LRV 92; its crisp brightness gives In the Moment a sharp, modern edge. If you want a softer transition, Swiss Coffee (12) at LRV 80 is a warm, gentle white that keeps the whole scheme relaxed and works well in older homes.

As a second wall color for adjoining rooms or hallways, Silver Drop (PPU18-19) at LRV 60 is a quiet greige that shares the same muted temperament, so the two flow together without a jarring shift. Back to Nature (S340-4), a lighter green at LRV 38, extends the green story into a bedroom or sunroom.

For contrast, Cracked Pepper (PPU18-01) at LRV 5 is a soft black that suits a front door, island, or window frames. Warm woods like oak and walnut fit naturally, and brass, bronze, and matte black metals all work.
