Dunn-Edwards Lighthouse

At LRV 84, Lighthouse is a whole-home light color, not a statement or contrast shade. Its job is to brighten and open up space. It works on walls throughout a house, and it is especially useful in small or dark rooms where you want to bounce light and make the space feel larger.

It is a natural fit for ceilings and for trim, which is its default role in the Dunn-Edwards lineup, giving you a warm crisp edge against deeper wall colors. On cabinets it reads as a soft warm white that pairs easily with wood and stone.

Because it is so light, do not expect it to create drama on its own. For contrast, pair it with the darker coordinating colors below on an island, a front door, or an accent wall. Outdoors it works as a light body or trim color in sunny settings.

With an LRV of 84, Lighthouse reflects a lot of light and stays bright in almost any room, which also means the surrounding light strongly shapes how warm it looks.

In north-facing rooms, the cooler light tempers the gold and Lighthouse settles into a soft, balanced cream. South-facing rooms flood it with warm light, so the warmth reads clearly and, in direct midday sun, it can wash out toward a plain bright white. East light gives it a warm glow in the morning that flattens by afternoon, and west rooms do the reverse, warming up in the evening.

Bulbs matter just as much. Warm 2700K lamps push it toward buttery and can exaggerate the yellow. Cooler 3500K to 4000K bulbs hold it crisp and neutral. Always test it under the actual bulbs you use at night.

Against Antique White DEW351 at LRV 73, Lighthouse is clearly brighter and lighter. Antique White is deeper and creamier, so it feels cozier and more traditional, while Lighthouse keeps a room feeling open and fresh. Choose Antique White when you want warmth to dominate, Lighthouse when you want brightness first.

Wax Poetic DET651 at LRV 79 leans further into gold. Beside it, Lighthouse looks cleaner and less buttery, so Wax Poetic is the pick for a distinctly warm cream and Lighthouse for a soft white with only a hint of warmth.

Angelic Starlet DET645 at LRV 80 carries a cooler, slightly greener cast. Lighthouse reads warmer and more golden next to it. If your fixed finishes are cool, Angelic Starlet blends in better; if they are warm, Lighthouse is the safer match.

For a crisp companion white, Whisper DEW340 at LRV 84 is a touch cooler than Lighthouse and makes a clean ceiling or a subtle trim contrast when Lighthouse is on the walls.

For a second wall color in adjoining rooms, Dover Cliffs DEC771 at LRV 67 is a soft greige that steps down in brightness without clashing, and Almond DEW348 at LRV 67 gives a slightly warmer neutral partner.

For depth and contrast, Iron Mountain DET637 at LRV 11 is a deep charcoal that anchors cabinets, an island, or a feature wall against all that light. For a front door with real punch, Maiden Voyage DEA178 at LRV 8 is a deep blue that reads rich beside the pale trim.
