Sage & Cedar Exterior Color Scheme

A grounded sage exterior softened with creamy trim and a warm cedar accent, for a home that looks settled and natural. Every shade is matched to real paint you can buy.

Start with Muted Sage on the siding. It is the kind of soft, grayed green that makes a house look like it has always belonged on its lot, tucked in among trees and garden beds. It never shouts. In morning light it leans calm and cool, and by late afternoon it warms up just enough to feel welcoming. This is the color that sets the whole mood here: easy, earthy, and a little bit modern.

To keep it from feeling heavy, wrap the trim in Soft White. It is a creamy, gentle white that frames the windows and corners without the harsh glare of a stark white, so the sage stays the star. Then bring in Warm Cedar as your accent, on the front door or a wood-toned beam, where its rich brown adds a hit of warmth and a natural, woodsy contrast. So: sage on the body, soft white on the trim, and cedar on the door or a small wood detail to tie it all together.

Questions

Will sage siding look too green from the street?

No. This sage is muted and grayed-down, so it reads as a soft, natural color rather than a bright green. It sits quietly against trees and lawn instead of competing with them.

Does this scheme work in full sun?

It does. Strong sun lifts the sage and warms the cedar, which keeps the whole house looking inviting. If your home faces north or sits in shade, the colors will feel a touch cooler and deeper, which still looks great.
