The fix. Spec eggshell anywhere hands land — hallways, kids' rooms, light switches, chair-rail height. Keep flat for ceilings and low-touch walls. And do not wash anything before the film has had its roughly two weeks.

Why it happens. Eco Spec is a clean-air paint first. Hide is strong in whites and pale tints, but deep saturated colors thin out and do not land with Aura's one-coat depth. The fix. Plan two coats, sometimes three, and budget the time. If the room is really about the color rather than the air, Aura is the honest answer and Regal Select is the tougher everyday one.

The fix. If you have a known reaction to a specific preservative, ask the dealer for the full SDS before you buy a gallon, and test a quart in one room first. The emissions testing is genuine — verified at 24 hours and 14 days by an outside body — but it is emissions testing, not an ingredient-free claim.

It is the only Benjamin Moore line carrying both Green Seal and asthma & allergy friendly certification, and Gennex colorants keep it zero-VOC even after tinting. If you just want low odor, no: ben, Ultra Spec, and Aura Bath & Spa are all 0 g/L, and Behr Premium Plus is GREENGUARD Gold for far less. It is also a plainer paint than Aura, so deep saturated colors need extra coats.
